Barcelona vs Celta Vigo at Camp Nou
Last night was a night I’ll never forget. I’m still smiling this morning. Barcelona played Celta Vigo at Camp Nou, and what a match it was! I live on Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes, not far from the stadium, so I could feel the excitement from early afternoon. The streets were full of fans wearing Barça colors, waving flags, singing, and shouting “Messi! Messi!” from cars and balconies. It felt like the whole city was alive.
As an MBA student at IESE, most of my week is spent with books and case studies. But football nights like this make all the hard work worth it. I’ve always been a Ronaldo fan—his focus and drive inspire me—but watching Messi play in person feels different. He doesn’t just play; he dances.
Messi scored two beautiful goals last night, and Barcelona won 5–0. Every time he touched the ball, the crowd stood up and shouted his name again and again. The “Cant del Barça” song before kickoff gave me chills. I didn’t even know all the words, but I sang along anyway.
Walking back home on Gran Via after the match, people were celebrating everywhere. Fireworks went off, strangers were hugging, and the chants still echoed in the night air. From my window later, I could still hear groups singing and cheering.
It wasn’t just a game—it was a feeling. Messi magic, Barcelona pride, and a city that truly loves its team. I’ll never forget it.
